Sure, Music-Reviewer.com may want to call Miggs “one of the best bands you’ve never heard of”, but I got a feeling you’ve heard of these guys – Don Miggs, Michael Lombardo and Ryan Scarbrough. They’re just too damn good (and on one of our favorites, Rock Ridge Music).

I remember during our latest PEV anniversary XXQ’s this past April 1st (the 3rd round of them), the question was asked, “Getting a chance to see shows and invites to see shows, is there one city that each of you have not visited for a show that you would like to?” I’d like to change my answer to Atlanta.

If you’ve appeared on the Rock Boat, you bet your ass PEV wants to talk to you. Our latest feature just took on the 10th Anniversary 2010 Rock Boat with some PensEyeView alum (Sister Hazel, Pat McGee), and is even part of one of our favorite labels, Rock Ridge Music! That’s right; Sun Domingo seemingly has it all… even honest rock talent!

With A Gun – badass name and a badass sound. As they put it themselves: “With A Gun plays Rock N Roll the way it should be: loud, sexy, sweaty, violent, and beautiful.” These are guys you can expect to cave in the stage – bringing noise your ear holes will welcome – “Aggressive, melodic, alternative hard rock.”

It’s a question that you can’t ask without a bucket load of passion behind it: “Are you with me?!” I’ve heard it in some badass movies and from some badass friends. So you know, when a band like our latest feature OTiS, began taking root with this very question… you have a group of guys on the same very passionate page. The NYC-based OTiS is made up of funk, rock and jam induced artists making music for all the right reasons.

The London-based and Italian-born Gaudi has been an elite member of the world music scene as both a producer and artist – a career spanning across decade after decade. He kicked it all off in 1980, signed his first major record deal in 1986 and has played 1100 gigs along the way. And the best part… he’s not finished yet.

You dig philosophy? I do. A lot. So when I read and learned more about the inspiration behind the music of our latest feature, The Winter Sounds, I knew I had to find out more. Just check out their thoughts: "Most of my lyrical ideas come from great and painful things discovered in the world that may or may not have happened specifically to me and the other side of chasing after your happiness and finding the quest to be as exciting as the possibility of capture...

So many bands claim that they play with unheard of passion – putting their mind, body and soul into every musical thing they do. While I would never doubt such a claim from any artist… Cloud Cult stands out to me as a band with seemingly limitless passion for what they do. They’ve been around for 15 years, celebrated by the New York Times, MTV, Spin and Billboard to name a few, remaining under their independent not-for-profit environmental record label, Earthology Records.

The everyday man with the amazing voice, Scott Savol sprang into your living room back in 2005 when he finished in the top five of American Idol Season 4. Without a doubt, the former corrections officer has a gift, but he doesn’t let it inflate his ego. As down to earth as any other artist we’ve spoken to, Savol remains the same laid back guy he was before his participation on the certified gold record, American Idol Showstoppers, including his contribution, “Against All Odds (Take a Look at Me Now)”.

My Jerusalem is another fine example of talent blending together from several other bands (one of my favorite examples is how PEV alum Sevendust came together in Atlanta) – talent with distinctive styles, influences and gifts. So it shouldn’t come as a surprise to hear how My Jerusalem classifies their united sound: “Spastic Chamber Gospel Southern Gothic Indie Rock” … Damn. The best part is – I get it. Completely.
